Questions from BinaryX Team

Q1. Can you briefly describe your project BinaryX?

CP: BinaryX is a game development platform on the BNB Chain. We started out more than a year ago to develop engaging games that incorporate gamefi elements.

We launched our first game CyberDragon, which is currently one of the most popular P2E (Play-to-Earn) games globally.

We’re very grateful for the support and good feedback that we’ve received so far.

This year, we went back to the drawing board, tapping on our learnings from developing cyberdragon. to see how much more we can do in this exciting and ever changing space of gamefi.

We decided we would continue to do what we do best, developing more engaging games as well as engaging with the larger game development community to share our learnings and expertise.

In May this year, we launched our second game, Cyberarena, which is a free to play Card base strategy game. And now we are busy preparing for the launch of our third game, CyberChess.

Q2. What is CyberChess? Can you list 1–3 killer features of this project that makes it ahead of its competitors?

CP: CyberChess is an auto chess strategy game. As a free to play, play to earn game, CyberChess was designed to allow players to start playing the game without having to make an initial investment. Besides, CyberChess has an option for Players to recharge their account with our Gold token to make in-game purchases to summon new heroes and acquire new skills.

There were 3 design principles going into developing Cyberchess.

  1. Strategic and competitive:

We were inspired to build this game after gathering feedback from our community. that they wanted something more tactical and strategy-based. CyberChess is essentially a step up from CyberDragon, and includes more complex gameplay, more customization in terms of heroes and skills.

2. Lower barrier to entry:

Given the current market conditions, we were very mindful of added fees for players to start the game, such as initial investment and gas fees

3. Better quality:

The market is moving fast, and the quality of web3 games have been rapidly accelerated. On this end, we set out to expand our development team to incorporate more game developers from the traditional gaming space.

Q3. How would Cyberchess contribute to the current BinaryX ecosystem in terms of tokenomics?

CP: BinaryX platform is powered by a multi-token economy. Our governance token, $BNX is primarily minted when players play the game and is used in many platform features such as bidding for our CyberSeries NFT and participating in DAO votes.

Our other token, $GOLD, is our game currency. It has many features such as fighting monsters in dungeon on Cyberdragon or playing a competitive game in Cyberarena

Specifically for Cyberchess. We have added many new ways to earn BNX as well as spend Gold. Gold can be used to purchase heroes and skills, for users who desire more variability in gameplay.

Q4. According to your project’s roadmap — what are your most important next priorities in the incoming months? Do you have any future plans to attract non-Blockchain players to play CyberChess? How?

CP: We continue to invest in our existing games and develop new genres for our expanding base of gamers. We hope to expand our game selections, make it more diverse so that gamers of all levels can play our games. We recognise that the space lacks diversity, and we hope that we can improve that by introducing different genres into our arsenal. The point is, as the industry evolves, so will we.

For existing games, we continue to take in suggestions from the community and expand our features to support new possibilities. For example, we are working actively with guilds to develop features to support esports competitions on Cyberchess.

We are also in the process of launching our own IGO platform, with the goal of connecting gamers, developers and investors together. In fact, We just completed our first IGO with SHITLABs yesterday, which was extremely well received.

Community Questions

We are overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of both BinaryX community and BNB Chain community because our google form for collecting questions received more than 11,000 responses. Given the limited time of the AMA, we can only choose 6 to answer. Feel free to drop your questions in the BinaryX community and discuss it with our volunteers!

Q5. From BinaryX Community — Can you explain what preparations I have to do to play the Cyber Chess game and how many types of Heros are there in the Cyber Chess game? Can you give an illustrative tutorial about playing the Cyber Chess game?

CP: No prep is required. We’ve deliberately designed the game so that you can play without fuss. All you really need is to connect your wallet to our website to start playing.

For new players who want to learn how to play our game, we have a CyberChess wiki page where you can learn about core game mechanics, heroes capabilities and gameplay strategy.

Q6. From BNB Community — Do the token holders have the right to participate in the governance of the project?

Olivia: Yes, our token holders get to vote on major developmental changes and governance issues pertaining to the project. We plan to design a token economy mechanism that won’t be adjusted frequently in the upcoming games. But if we have to make some adjustments in the future, we have 2 ways: one is BNX governance. The proposals will be released by developers on the website DAO page. Users can vote with BNX.

The other way is on snapshot. We plan to launch a smart contract ensuring a 100 BNX burn for the proposal threshold. Users can vote with CNFT. CNFT is a soul-bound token. Users can earn CNFTs only by contributing to the community such as moderators. It cannot be traded or transferred. Thus, whales will not be able to manipulate the result of the proposal by buying tokens.

Q7. From BinaryX Community — How can we use a fun game like CyberChess to expand our community?

Olivia: With the launch of CyberChess, we will be running a bunch of really cool activities to attract new players. This includes airdrops, more educational AMAs, and we also plan to collaborate with guild partners to introduce the BinaryX brand to more gamers in the SEA region.

We designed CyberChess to have an autochess format so that it has a lower barrier to entry for gamers who are new to gamefi as well. With this game, we are confident that our community will continue to grow.

Q8. From BNB Community — Do you consider community feedback/requests during the creation process to expand on new ideas for your project?

Olivia: We have a weekly meeting to discuss the feedback that has been collected from our community. We engage in social listening and speak 1-on-1 with various community members to ensure that we have a steady stream of ideas to work with during the entire development process.

Q9. From BNB Community — Many projects are claiming themselves as Community Driven. The community connection projects changed drastically after their token launch. Is your project really community driven and how?

Olivia: BinaryX has always placed a huge emphasis on connecting and collaborating with our community. That’s why we introduced our DAO mechanism with CyberDragon. We wanted the community to vote on important decisions that would impact the general trajectory of our games. During the bear market, we actually organised a vote so that our users could chime in on changes to our tokenomics — this allowed us to pivot and successfully avoid a colossal crash during the peak of the bear market.

Now, we’re working on something even more exciting. We’ve seen how some of our community members have stuck by us and contributed their time and effort to help us build our community and take care of our users, so we have come up with a new Community Ambassador Programme to give back and work even closer with new and existing contributors of our community. We’re currently opening up applications for anyone who is passionate about the growth of BinaryX as a project.

Let me share some details about the programme:

  • A fixed salary will give our ambassadors a sense of security during the bear market and the possible world economic crisis.
  • We provide a bonus for our ambassadors with no upper limit, the more you contribute, the more you earn. Referral programme — Work more, earn more refer X amount, get 10% more
  • Low application threshold — no specific skills, just need passion/hard work to build a strong community
  • Exclusive Contributor rights — contributors have more votes for any decision made as part of the DAO community
  • Case study: Jay — became full-timer after doing well in a community contributor role

Q10. From BinaryX Community — Could you please elaborate more on NFT interoperability? And how does the IGO fit into the overall business model of BinaryX?

CP: For the NFT interoperability, it comes from the principles of adding utility to existing tokens and NFTs. So as a web3 gamefi platform, we always wanted to increase the utility of our first batch of NFT. Through our multiple games, we can actually see different utility and different values of NFTs. So something that is strong in one game might not work that well in others while something that is presumed to be cheap and common might be useful in a new game.

So to me what is exciting about this is new value discovery in this process. Value is created by what people are interested in, the games they are interested in and what they want to spend their time on, in terms of gaming. That is the concept of why we wanted to push for the NFT interoperability.

For example, for CyberChess, you can bring in your characters from CyberDragon and users can get different stats as well as different skills attached to heroes and skills specifically for CyberChess.

And for how the IGO fit into the entire business model, the idea behind the IGO platform is to engage with game developers and to bring the two communities together.

We also believe that there are a lot more exciting games to be discovered out there and we want to provide that option to our players, which is the main driver for the IGO platform.

For our IGO platform, we will be using $BNX as our currency so there is more utility for $BNX.

And we will also burn a certain percentage of $BNX collected in the IGO. For example, we have burnt 20% of all the $BNX collected in our first IGO. This is one way how $BNX can contribute positively to our projects as a whole.
